Born in Canovanas, Puerto Rico of Dominican and Afro-Puerto Rican ancestry, Dr. Carmen Jimenez is an award-winning composer and independent music producer, psychotherapist licensed in New York State as a clinical social worker since 1987, third-generation educator, researcher, radio commentator, EMDR Certified Therapist and Approved Consultant, Board Certified in Biofeedback, clinical hypnotherapist, a National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) acupuncture detoxification specialist, a Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), NYS OASAS credentialed in alcohol and substance abuse as well as a Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) Assessment and Screening Provider.

As the founder of Counseling Consultation Services in New York, Dr. Jimenez received a Doctor of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, a Master of Public Administration, and a Master of Science in Social Work from New York University and Columbia University, respectively. Dr. Jimenez completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at St. John’s University. Dr. Jimenez developed the Mapping Protocol® and coined the term deportphobia®. Dr. Jimenez is also the co-founder of the nonprofit organization, Protect the Angels, Inc. Dr. Jimenez has been featured on Telemundo 47, Univision 41, Canales, Impacto, Temas, Noticias del Mundo, El Latinoamericano, La Voz Hispana, Hawaii Hispanic News, Latin Beat, and the New York Daily News. A former advice columnist for El Nacional Newspaper, Dr. Jimenez conducts workshops on trauma among undocumented immigrants, deportphobia®, migration, EMDR, violence, alcohol abuse, and the Mapping Protocol®.

Married to pianist Jesse Rodriguez and their three children, Dr. Jimenez was raised in Corona, New York. Influenced by her father and mentor, Hall of Fame Civil Engineer, Jose V. Jimenez, born in Loiza, Puerto Rico, Dr. Jimenez was introduced to design and work ethics. On the other hand, Dr. Jimenez’s mother, Bienvenida Jimenez Salcedo, born in San Jose de las Matas, Dominican Republic, introduced Dr. Jimenez to the creative arts.

Carmen Jiménez es una trabajadora social clínica premiada con licencia en Nueva York desde 1987, educadora de tercer generación, investigadora, psicoterapeuta, terapeuta certificada por EMDR y consultora aprobada, certificada por la Junta en Biofeedback, hipnoterapia clínica, especialista en desintoxicación por acupuntura de la Asociación Nacional de Desintoxicación de Acupuntura (NADA), una profesional de abuso de sustancias del Departamento de Transporte (SAP), acreditada en alcohol y abuso de sustancias (NYS OASAS), así como un proveedor de evaluación y detección de conducción mientras intoxicado (DWI).

 

Como la fundadora de Counseling Consultation Service, Inc. en Nueva York, la Dra. Jiménez recibió un Doctorado en Educación del Teachers College, la Universidad de Columbia, una Maestría en Administración Pública y una Maestría en Ciencias en Trabajo Social de la Universidad de Nueva York y la Universidad de Columbia, respectivamente. Jimenez, Bienvenida Jimenez Salcedo, nacida en San Jose de las Matas, Republica Dominicana, presento a la Dra. Jimenez a las artes creativas.
